Steve Branin's Flyball Timer runs on the Palm OS and allows the user to time Flyball races, including lap times for each dog, and save the race for review later. This is a useful tool to use in practice when trying to determine how fast your dogs are for seeding purposes.

Seedtime Program

The Seedtime Program was developed to help you choose the best seed times for your flyball teams. The Program can help your teams to be more competitive which in turn lets teams maximize wins and points won at tournaments. The program was designed to display and store statistical data for individual dogs and for teams. As more race data is recorded into the Program the probabilities increase in accuracy.

Since we started using the Program, we have been placing and getting ribbons much more consistently, and our dogs bring home more points each racing weekend. Of course, results are not guaranteed, as it can’t predict how divisions will pan out based on seed time entries of other clubs.

The Program was created by Craig Chappen, who races a dog on our Club; he works as a software engineer with experience in the design of GUI (Graphical User Interface) programs such as this and has a strong math background. The program was developed with Microsoft Visual C++.

You can email Craig directly if you have questions. If you like what you see, send $20 US directly to Craig (check or money order to Craig Chappen, 155 Shelly Drive, Robins, IA, 52328, USA) and include your email address and home address. Craig will email the Program to you as an attachment. If your email cannot handle a 160K attachment, he will download the Program onto a floppy diskette and mail it to you via snail mail.
