Agility & Canine Good Citizen Classes Classes beginning on April 3rd: Thursdays at 6:30 Advanced Beginner Agility class Thursdays at 7:30 Canine Good Citizen class Classes meet for 5 weeks; cost is $75 for the session. Flyball Class Skidmarkz offers beginning and intermediate flyball classes with lots of individual attention for anyone interested in discovering the fun and excitement of flyball in Iowa. Our classes provide a no-pressure opportunity to experience the fun of flyball without any commitments! Flyball classes will be offered on a drop-in basis for the winter. Classes will be held Sundays at 3:30 p.m. from December 9th through March 30th. The fee is $10/class, payable the day of class. This way if the weather is questionable folks can stay safe and warm at home and we won't have to worry about scheduling make-up classes. Please contact Jayne at mcjayne@yahoo.com to sign up for classes. There will be no class on the following dates due to instructor conflicts: January 20th, February 10th, February 17th, March 2nd. Beginner classes focus on developing a strong recall to the owner, teaching a safe and healthy swimmer's turn on the box, and having fun while deepening the bond between you and your dog. Intermediate classes are also offered and build on skills learned in the beginner classes, with continued work on the flyball box, adding in hurdles to the box work, and beginning work on rudimentary passes. Members of other local clubs who are still in training are welcome to take our classes for a different perspective, extra work for their dogs around new distractions, and extra mat/practice time. We use only positive training methods, and each dog and owner gets plenty of individualized attention so they can advance at their own paces. While the classes are taught by Skidmarkz team members, we encourage class attendees to check out all the local flyball clubs to discover which team best fits with their personal goals and personalities.
